Spent few days trying to integrate ASP.NET MVC 5.1 into my ASP.NET Web Forms project.
That's tough and something always does not work.

Last discovery:
Adding System.Web.WebPages.dll (that comes from MVC) to my web project kills ability of .NET framework to read relaxedUrlToFileSystemMapping configuration flag, so now some of my pages crash with "Illegal characters in path."

Does anyone know if MVC worth all that suffering?

Here's my question on Stack Overflow:

I believe it is not.

Any reasons to believe that?

Ancient stuff written and maintained by the people who probably have not learned much or who are targeting people who have not learned much in the last 20 years.

Do you mean that MVC is ancient stuff?
Or Web Forms?
Or ASP.NET as a whole?

When it comes to Microsoft the opposite camp software products there is nothing rational you can hear from religious people. If you have bought your Visual Studio or MSDN subscriber (I am not sure) you can just ask their support. Or maybe poll community.

Not that I prefer MS over others but amused by how irrational some overall rational people are.

Вообще-то ASP.NET постоянно обновляется, включая C#, который вообще-то довольно удобный продвинутый язык.

В любом случае, что лучше для Web Development?
